The Portage County Democratic Party annual Chair Circle Benefit and Recognition Awards Reception was honored to meet Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Ohio Eric Brown on June 4 at NEOUCOM in Rootstown. The Chief Justice was joined by 17th District Congressman Tim Ryan; Judge Mary Jane Trapp, candidate for Justice of the Supreme Court of Ohio; Franklin County Clerk of Courts Maryellen O'Shaughnessy, Democratic candidate for Secretary of State of Ohio; former Judge Bill O'Neill, candidate for Congress in the 14th District; and Christopher J. Mallin, Democratic candidate for Portage County Auditor.
First Lady Frances Strickland visits Federated Democratic Women "Taste of Tuscany" Reception.
The Federated Democratic Women of Portage County were joined by Ohio First Lady Frances Strickland in Ravenns on June 17. The "taste of Tuscany" reception offered a sampling of Ohio wines and cheeses in the Tuscan tradition, as an opportunity to meet Democratic candidates for County and State offices in an informal setting,

Who we are.
We are the representatives of the citizens of Portage County, who elect us at Democratic Primary Elections according to the laws of the State of Ohio. Information on our meetings is available here.
What we do.
We work to elect to public office the candidates endorsed by the Democratic Party, encourage citizens to participate in our government, and promote the principles of the Democratic Party. Information on some of our activities during 2009 is availablehere.
Where we are.
We maintain an office in Ravenna at 254 West Main Street. The office telephone is (330) 298-3367 (298-DEMS). We operate voter education exhibits at the County Fair, Heritage Day, the BalloonaFair and other community events.
